Hilarious

Mark Steyn, victim of Arabic racism in Canada, filled in for Rush today.  He had a good thought.

One big reason for electing Obama is he was supposed to repair America’s relations with the world. So, how’s that working out so far? Well, India says Obama is ‘barking up the wrong tree’;Europe says Obama is plunging the world into depression; Canada says Obama is on a march to insanity; Kyrgyzstan sa ys, ‘Yankee go home’; and Iran says, ‘We have lift-off.’ Congratulations President Obama.”

I don’t think I can add anything to that.

Great news!

B-b-b-b-b0oya!

Not only is this great for the country, its a bigass blow to Obama.  Failing to pass this bill he’s so championed in the early going is nothing short of a catastrophe for Dems, and a sweeping victory for the GOP minority, who

“…appear to hold the balance of power in that chamber despite having only 41 seats to the Democrats’ 58.”

Obama is in dangerous territory suddenly.  Jobs are disappearing thanks to the media frenzy that has everyone convinced we’re in a depression despite a 1.3% growth in the economy year to date, the stimulus is being beaten up by all media outlets (even MSNBC!), and our international friends and enemies are making noise.  The President can’t seem to find people to populate the cabinet, he’s already included lobbyists in his supposedly lobbyist-free administration, and Clintonians are crawling around everywhere despite running on a campaign of Change ™.  We haven’t even gotten to Biden yet!  National perception can be fickle, but it can also be hard to change.  Many more bungles or signs of indecision and inexperience can easily turn the public on him.

He’s now holding personal meetings with weak-spined GOPers like Specter, McCain, and the usual suspects.  Sadly, this is nothing but a PR move, as we know he’d have the votes to pass it if it were a strict party line vote.  Kind of a feeble pass at trying to blame this on the GOP, really.  He lost control of the media and the purpose of this bill when he loaded it with so many liberal wishlist goodies that even the punditocracy has noticed.  He’s showing everyone with this bill that he’s not transformative, but a liberal Democrat trying to pay off his special interests.  Very Chicagoan, if I do say so myself.  Being from Illinois, I recognize this behavior very easily.

Our President swam with dolphins for the last 2 years or so, but if this keeps up, he may find out there are sharks in the ocean as well.  He’s already shown he may not be such a great swimmer in rough waters.
