The Queen gets an (ahem, second) iPod!
He’s gonna make the world love us again, despite the truth that they never really did from the start, but whatever. Shit’s gonna be perfect.
I thought he was only gonna give her a god’s eye, so this is actually a step in the right direction (LOL). The cool thing is this iPod comes with Obama videos on it! OMG what a great deal for a citizen of… another country entirely.
What on Earth is Barack thinking? Not only is this another misstep in his whirlwind tour of diplomatic ineptitude, but it is cannon fodder for R-tards like me who can just fire another salvo against the One. For a man who meticulously prepares his remarks at every stop and cultivates his media image endlessly, he surely is careless about things like this.
Obama’s image is based on being the smartest, coolest guy in the room, and how his smile melts your innards when he deigneth to shine his light upon your tortured soul. Cults of personality like this have great strength in that since they are based on a pie-in-the-sky ideal of how great of a guy Barack is, his actual actions at his post don’t matter, because you like him so damn much, there’s a viable excuse/great reason for everything he does, even if we’re not smart enough to grasp it just yet. He’s teflon no matter how badly he pilots the vessel in most cases.
The chink in the armor is when you make social and PR faux pas that dilute your uber-calm and smart image. Since the hero worship is founded in loving the person he is, any problems in your meaningless personal life become grave concerns as they threaten to betray the invincible façade you possess. If you show your cult of personality that you’re a bumbling dolt, the love affair is shattered. Suddenly you’re vulnerable to the slings and arrows of your actions AND you are regarded as clumsy.
President Obama better be careful, because these stories are starting to pile up, and its really early in the first half of this game. If he loses the lead by halftime, its going to get alot harder to pass his neo-Soviet policies.
